How to Get Internet on an iPhone 3G 3.1.2 With T-Mobile

T-Mobile allows users to activate phones from other carriers, including the iPhone. Since T-Mobile's high-speed network uses a different frequency than AT&T's high-speed network, the iPhone will not get 3G service. The iPhone 3G can still use Wi-Fi and browse the Internet on the slower EDGE data service. Activating the iPhone on T-Mobile is best for T-Mobile users who want an iPhone but don't want to sign up with AT&T or Verizon Wireless.

Instructions

1. Tap the "Settings" icon and open "General."

2. Touch "Network" and set "Data Roaming" to on, and "3G Enable" to off.

3. Tap "Cellular Data Network" and type "epc.tmobile.com" in the APN field. Leave the username and password fields empty.

4. Press the "Home" key to save the settings and return to the main screen.

5. Tap "Settings" and select "Wi-Fi." Set Wi-Fi to off.

6. Open the browser and load a web page.
