The iPhone 4G is the fourth generation touch-screen smartphone released by Apple that supports text messaging, voice calls, Apple apps and Web browsing. When you first purchase the phone, you must charge the battery. After the battery charges, you can power on the phone and start using its features. You must have a cell phone carrier to use the iPhone calling and Web browsing features.

Connect the iPhone to your computer using the USB cable provided by Apple. Connecting the phone to the computer lets you charge the battery.
Click the "Eject" button on the computer after you let the battery charge for several hours. When you click "Eject" in the system tray, you can safely remove the iPhone from the computer's USB port.
Press and hold the power button on the top of the iPhone 4G. Release the power button after you see the Apple symbol show up in the phone's screen. The phone boots to the iPhone home screen.
