How to Restart a Texas Instruments Titanium With an Address Error

The Texas Instruments TI-89 and TI-89 Titanium calculators are capable of running Flash-based programs. Sometimes, however, these programs can cause the device to freeze. If your TI-89 is showing an address error, it won't respond to normal input. You can reset it and return the calculator to normal operation using the keypad. After you reset the TI-89, you may need to adjust the contrast if the screen is too light to read.

  • Press and hold down the left and right arrow keys and the "2nd" button.

  • Press the "On" button.

  • Release all of the keys.

Tips & Warnings

  • Hold down the "2nd" button and press the up or down arrow keys to adjust the contrast.
