How to Unfollow in Facebook

Facebook is an online social network with millions of users worldwide. A Facebook account doubles as your personal profile on the site. You can create your own personal network of people and pages by adding individuals as friends and "liking" the pages of companies, causes, brands and other public entities. Then, you can follow the updates of these profiles and pages from your Facebook homepage while logged in, creating a chronological list of updates from your network. However, if you wish to unfollow the updates of any Facebook user or page, it's just as easy to unlike or unfriend them.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account, and click your name in the upper left corner to visit your profile.

    • 2

Find the profile or page you wish to unfollow. To find the personal profile of an individual you've added as a friend, click the "Friends" tab in the left column and type the friend's name in the Search field. The window populates with the friend's name automatically; click on this link. To find a page you want to unfollow, click the "Info" tab from your profile and scroll down to the interest category to which the page belongs -- for example, "Music" or "Movies." Click the page name to visit the page.

Scroll down the left column until you see the link for unfollowing the profile. For personal pages, this link says "Unfriend." For Facebook pages, the link says "Unlike." Click this link to stop following the status updates of this profile.
