How to Arrange Your iPhone Photos Into Albums

One of the drawbacks of the iPhone's photo storage is that you cannot create new albums directly on the phone. However, this does not mean that you can't arrange your photos into albums on your iPhone -- it just means you have to use your computer to configure the setup. If you import your iPhone's photos onto your computer, you can arrange them into albums in a folder that you can then re-sync onto your iPhone.

  • Connect your iPhone to your computer. If you have Windows, your computer will detect the phone and ask what you want to do. Choose to import photos. For Mac users, open iPhoto and select "Import Photos."

  • Use your photo-management software, such as iPhoto or Photo Gallery, to organize your photos into the albums you want to see on your iPhone.

  • Open iTunes. Click on your iPhone under "Devices" in the left panel.

  • Click the "Photos" tab above the center panel.

  • Check the box next to 'Sync Photos from." From the drop-down menu, choose the program or file folder that holds the albums you just created, such as iPhoto or your "Photos" folder.

  • Click the circle next to "Selected photos and albums" or "Selected folders," the options vary depending on whether you selected a program or a folder in Step 5.

  • Check the boxes next to the albums you created in the list below.

  • Click "Apply." Check the Photo app to ensure that the albums appear as you want them.
