How to Take the Date Off Pictures With a Nikon D5000

Printing the date on your photos can be a helpful reminder of when an event occurred. The date can also interfere with a beautifully printed photograph, because the orange numbers fill up a bottom corner of your photo. The date will be printed on photographs if you see "DATE" on the Nikon's information screen.

  • Press the "Menu" button next to the screen on the back of your Nikon D5000.

  • Select "Custom Settings," and then select "Shooting/Display."

  • Scroll down to "d6" to select "Date Imprint." Select the "Off" setting. This will prevent the date from being printed on your photos.
