How to Install a Dell Bluetooth Wireless Mouse

Dell manufactures a line of wireless mice that use Bluetooth technology to connect wirelessly to the computers. The computer needs to have Bluetooth capabilities in order to work with the mouse, but beyond that, the installation process is straightforward and does not require any specialized computer knowledge or know-how.

  • Download the Bluetooth driver for the Dell mouse from Follow the onscreen instructions to fully install the Bluetooth driver software before attempting to connect the mouse. If your mouse came with the installation disk, you can use that instead of the download.

  • Bring the wireless mouse within 30 feet of your computer. Check the system tray for the Bluetooth icon, which looks like a blue circle with criss-crossing lines in the middle.

  • Right-click this icon and choose "Add a Device."

  • Turn the Dell wireless mouse on. Press the button on the bottom right-hand side of the mouse to place it into discovery mode.

  • Select the mouse and click "Next." Input the passkey, if required, from the mouse documentation. Click "Next" and "Close." Your Dell wireless Bluetooth mouse should be paired with the computer and fully operational.
