How to Draw a Cartoon Tiger Cub
A tiger cub refers to a baby tiger, which will eventually grow into one of the largest types of cats. When drawing one of these animals, several directions can be taken to produce the desired effect. If you wish to draw a cartoon version of a tiger cub, then you are free to create a character that defies common logic specific to this animal. You may choose to use a realistic picture of a tiger cub to assist you in creating a cartoon, but the emotions and actions of the tiger cub cartoon can relate to human qualities.

1
Browse through a collection of tiger cub photographs and choose the right one that will assist you in drawing a cartoon tiger cub. This picture will provide you a detailed image of the general shape and structure of a tiger cub, whereas the style you use to create the character is entirely up to you.
-
2
Sketch out a large circle to represent the head of the tiger cub. Draw a smaller circle at the bottom of the larger version, as this section will represent the snout of the tiger cub. Use light pencil strokes when initially sketching out the head, as these marks will be easier to erase once you have clearly defined this area.

3
Sketch the body of the tiger in a position that suits the theme of your drawing. If you wish to dress or pose the tiger cub in a cartoon-like way, use light pencil marks to form a general idea on how you wish to translate this image to paper.
-
4
Add detail to the tiger cub's face to perpetuate the cartoon style. You may wish to include oversized eyes or mouth for this section, or you may want to just dress the tiger cub in certain apparel and accessories. Use light pencil marks until you have confidently created an image that satisfies you. Continue adding detail throughout the picture, using the referenced picture to guide you in any sections as necessary.
-
5
Outline the cartoon tiger cub and detailed areas with an ink pen to create a bolder appearance. For a more realistic look, define a light source point on the drawing in order to create shading. Treat this point as if it were a source of light shining onto the drawing of the tiger cub. You will need to shade the drawing in certain areas to accurately portray this light source.
-
6
Erase any remaining stray pencil marks to clean up the drawing. Compare your cartoon tiger cub with the picture you used as a reference to ensure that the image is complementary of the vision.
