Things You'll Need

  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Large plastic bowls
  • Epsom salt
  • Baking powder
  • Almond oil
  • Sea salt
  • Lidded container
  • Rose water
  • Mild baby shampoo
  • Lavender essential oil
  • Basil essential oil
  • 8 to 10 ounce plastic bottle
  • Wash cloth or body poof

  1. Basil Bath Salts

    • 1

      Crush 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves gently with your fingers. Place the leaves into a large plastic bowl.

      Add 3 cups Epsom salt, 1 tsp. baking powder and 2 tsp. almond oil to the mixture.

      Add 1 cup sea salt to the bowl and stir all of the ingredients until well incorporated.

      Pour the basil bath salt into a lidded container.

      Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the basil salts into a bath of warm water. Soak in the tub to allow the salts to soften you skin.

      Work the basil salt into your skin during the shower. The salts act as a gentle exfoliator that will leave behind a light, pleasant aroma.

    Basil Body Wash

      Pour 2 cups rosewater into a large plastic bowl.

      Add 2 cups mild baby shampoo to the bowl. A mild soap contains no dyes or perfumes.

      Stir in 10 drops of lavender essential oil and 10 drops basil essential oil into the bowl.

      Stir the ingredients together well and store in an 8- to 10-ounce plastic bottle. More than one bottle may be required to house all of the ingredients.

      Wet the skin in the shower and work the body wash into your skin using a washcloth or shower poof.
