An intercom system allows you to talk privately to another person in your network, or choose to hold a conference between all intercom locations at once. The Chamberlain NLS2 system has a secure digital radio link, which enables multiple conversations simultaneously between two intercom locations. This system also includes a hands-free mode for answering and a room-monitoring feature.
Press and hold the “Learn” button on the rear of the intercom until you hear an initial beep followed by a second beep within six seconds. This action clears the memory on the intercom. Clear the memory on all intercoms in this manner.
Press and hold the “Learn” button on one intercom until a beep is heard. This programs the intercom into your network. It can take up to three and a half minutes until you hear the beep. Repeat this process to add each intercom to the network.
Press and release the “Talk” button to verify that each intercom is established on the network.
Press the “Talk” button on the left bottom side of the control panel to turn the intercom on.
Press and hold the “Talk” button down and speak into the intercom. All other intercoms on the same channel will receive the conversation. Press channel one through four, and hold the talk button to talk to that intercom location only.
Push up “Dipswitch #2” in the rear of the intercom to have a conference call with all of the channels at one time.
Place an intercom in a room to be monitored. Press and hold the “Monitor” button until you hear a tone. Release the button. All networked intercoms can listen to the sounds in this room. Choose a specific channel for the monitor mode for only intercoms on the same channel to listen to the sounds in the room. Press and hold the “Talk” button until you hear a tone to dismiss the monitor mode.
Place “Dipswitch #1” in the up position and “Dipswitch #2” in the down position to activate the voice activation mode. This allows you to answer a call hands free without pressing the talk button. Speak loudly into the microphone and your answer will be received by the paging intercom.
