How to Find Out What Version of Mac I Have
If you are unfamiliar with Mac computers, you might not know the specific model you have or what version of the operating system it is running. When you want to install a new application, you need to make sure it is compatible with your Mac, according to information the software manufacturer provides in its technical specifications. You can easily find out what version of Mac you have.

Click the "Apple" logo from the Finder menu on the Mac.

Click "About This Mac." A window appears, listing the Mac OS software version running, as well as details about the processor and memory.

Click the "More Info" button.

Click "Hardware" under "Contents" in the left pane of the information window. The model of the Mac computer appears, such as "iMac" or "MacBook Pro."
