How to Add a Chat Box to Facebook

Add a chat box to talk to multiple friends at once.

Facebook Chat allows users to connect by sending and receiving messages in real-time. You can chat with multiple online friends at once. To add a chat box to Facebook, follow a few easy steps.

Instructions

1. Log in to your Facebook account.

2. Click the "Chat" menu located in the lower right corner of any page to view a list of all friends available for chat.

3. Click the name of a friend appearing with a green dot to open a chat box. Begin typing a message in the space provided and press "Enter" or "Return" on your keyboard to send.

4. Click the "Chat" menu to re-view the list of available friends. Select the name of a friend listed with a green dot to open a separate chat box. Type a message and hit "Enter" or "Return" to send.

Tips & Warnings

• Select the "Pop Out Chat" option located under the "Options" tab of the "Chat" menu to use Facebook chat in a new window.
