How to Stop a Lag in "MapleStory"

Though MapleStory is a browser-based computer game and does not take up much memory, it can lag on the computer like so many other games. Lag is when the real-time sequence of play is disrupted and the game skips a beat. The computer then tries to force itself to speed up, resulting in broken frames in the picture quality. However, you can eliminate lag by making sure you do several things while playing the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Close all of the programs on your computer except MapleStory. Because other programs clog the computer's capacity for functioning and processing, more open programs will result in higher density of lag.

    • 2

Go to the "Menu" of MapleStory. Click on the "Graphics" tab. Reduce the graphic capacity to half of what it is on your computer. This will reduce the quality of graphics, but will also help eliminate lag.

    • 3

Go to the "Menu" section of MapleStory and click on "Sounds." Turn off ambient sounds and background sounds. This will reduce the processes needed to run the game, resulting in lower lag.

    • 4

Log off your account. Wait for five to ten minutes and log back in. MapleStory can lag if you have been logged in for too long.
