The administrator helps the whole team work more efficiently.

An administrator has the complex task of ensuring that all other staff can work efficiently. The administrator must be sensitive to the needs of each employee and the roadblocks they face individually or with each other, and come up with effective solutions to move past the problem. Being a good administrator takes a variety of practical and emotional skills.

Instructions

    • 1

Get as much education as you can. The more education you receive, the better you will be equipped to handle the responsibilities of your job.

    • 2

Make an employee chart to attain a bird's-eye view of your employees and their tasks. Write down the hierarchy of positions, how they interact, and each task or project on the table.

    • 3

Allocate work assignments in an efficient manner. If, in Step 2, you realized that the work load is too heavy or too light on any one person or department, reassign the work.

    • 4

Issue realistic deadlines. Sometimes your deadlines are determined by external forces, but if you are setting deadlines for your employees, ask them what they think is realistic according to their current workload.

    • 5

Check in with your employees on a regular basis. Check the progress of work against the quality standards of your company. Also touch base with the feelings of the employees doing the work. Offer any help or resources you can provide to struggling employees.
