How to Edit Pandora

Pandora is an online music service that offers channels created from individual listener input. For example, if the user is a fan of the Beatles song "Here Comes the Sun," he could enter the name of that song and Pandora will produce a music station that offers songs that are similar in melody, tone and rhythm. To personalize a Pandora station further, a listener could use the "edit a station" feature. Using that feature makes it possible to edit the station's description, alter "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" feedback, and change the "seeds," or input, upon which the station is based.

Deleting Input from a Pandora Station

  • Log on to your Pandora account.

  • Click on the arrow to the right of each of your station tabs for the drop-down menu.

  • Select "edit station details" from the drop-down menu.

  • Check the box by the name of the song or artist in the list of "song seeds" or "artists seeds." Click on the text that says "remove checked" to delete a song or artist seed.

  • Scroll down to the "thumbs up, thumbs down" section and select the box of the song you wish to remove, to delete previous "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" feedback. For example, if you had previously selected "You Can Call Me Al" as a "thumbs up" selection, simply click on the box to the right of that song title, then click on the text that says "remove checked."

Add Input to a Pandora Station

  • Click on the upper right of each list to add more artist or song seeds to your station.

  • Type in the artist or song name.

  • Click on the "edit now" button to add descriptions to your station, located at the right of the text that says "This is your space to write a description of your station."

Tips & Warnings

  • You can only edit a Pandora station from your computer or iPhone, but the results will show up on whatever device you listen to Pandora.
