How to Fix an iPhone 3GS if the Volume Is Very Low

The iPhone 3GS is a multimedia smartphone developed by Apple. It comes with several features, including a 3.0 megapixel camera and a built-in iPod player. If the volume level on your phone is too low, the "Volume Limit" feature is likely enabled. This feature allows the volume for headphones, earphones and connected speakers to stay at a set level. Disable this feature if you want to maximize your phone's volume.

  • Press the "Volume Up (+)" button on the left side of your phone to increase the volume.

  • Turn off the "Volume Limit" if the volume for the built-in iPod is too low. To do so, tap "Settings" on the home screen, and then tap "iPod."

  • Tap "Volume Limit," and then drag the slider all the way to the right to increase the volume.

  • Tap "Lock Volume Limit" if you want to assign a security code to prevent unauthorized users from changing your settings. Enter the code you want to use. Disabling volume limit works for music, podcasts, audiobooks and videos. It also only works for headphones, earphones or speakers connected to the headset jack on your iPhone 3GS.
