How to Obtain Wireless Internet

Create a mobile office by obtaining a wireless Internet connection.

Being able to access the Internet through your laptop from anywhere is a great benefit. You can access a lot of information through a laptop, phone or Ipad. In order to do so, you need to have a wireless Internet connection. There are a few affordable, and some free, ways wireless Internet can be obtained. So, don't confine yourself to working in your office at your desktop. Take your laptop anywhere there is wireless network capabilities and the world becomes your office.

Instructions

1. Purchase a wireless Internet router. Routers are sold at any office supply store, retail store, such as Target and Walmart, and online. Follow the instructions for setting it up.

2. Take your laptop to a Wi-Fi "hot spot." Many public places such as coffee shops, bookstores and libraries have installed Internet wireless capabilities and then leave it open for the public to use. You can go online while you are near these hotspots.

3. Sign up for a data plan through your cell phone company. This allows you to get Internet access anywhere you have cell services. However, if you have an Ipod Touch, you won't need to buy a data plan because they are made to work with Wi-Fi.
