How to Turn on the WiFi on My Dell Latitude D600


The Dell Latitude D600 is a small, light laptop originally designed for business users. The lightweight case design and built-in Wi-Fi make the Dell Latitude D600 an excellent choice for travel. The internal Wi-Fi on the Dell Latitude D600 must be enabled in two places. Wi-Fi must be enabled in the BIOS, and must be turned on using the toggled Function key. In addition, the correct drivers for the Wi-Fi adapter must be installed. When the Windows drivers are installed, the Dell Wi-Fi connection utility is also installed. The drivers and Wi-Fi utility are available for download at the Dell Drivers and Downloads website.

Enable Wi-Fi in the Dell Latitude D600 BIOS

  • Reboot the Dell Latitude D600.

  • Press the "F2" key, when prompted, to enter the BIOS Setup.

  • Press the right arrow on the keyboard to move to selection on the top navigation bar of the BIOS to the "Hardware" option.

  • Press the down arrow to move to the Wi-Fi adapter option and press the "Enter" key.

  • Select "Enabled" and press "Enter."

  • Press the "F10" key to save, exit the BIOS and reboot the computer. When the computer boots up, Wi-Fi is enabled in the BIOS. Next, make sure the Wi-Fi switch is toggled on from the keyboard.
