How to Transfer Emails & Contacts From AT&T to Cable Internet Service

Many cable communications companies offer bundled rates on phone, TV and high-speed Internet service. It's not uncommon for people to switch cable providers after a contract is up because another provider is offering a better deal. If you're a soon-to-be former AT&T cable Internet subscriber, before closing your AT&T account, you should transfer all of your saved email correspondence and contacts to your new email account. Many cable Internet service providers (ISPs) partner with Esaya to offer their customers a way to easily migrate email from one account to another account using Esaya's TrueSwitch tool.

  • Go to the generic email migration page on the TrueSwitch Web site.

  • Check the box next to the "Terms of Service" agreement statement. Click "Begin."

  • Select "ATT" from the "Select a Provider" drop-down menu in the "Source Account" section. Enter your AT&T email address and login password.

  • Open the "Select a Provider" drop-down menu in the "Target" section. Select your new cable ISP. TrueSwitch supports migrating emails and contacts to and from Cablevision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Time Warner and Verizon, among many other ISPs.

  • Click "Continue." Follow the on-screen instruction to migrate your email and address book contacts from your AT&T account to your new email account with an alternate cable Internet service.
