The Garmin nuvi 205 can be used when you are driving a car or other type of vehicle in your neighborhood, to a new city or to a different state. However, if you want to use your Garmin nuvi 205 in a different country, such as to travel to Canadian cities, you are likely going to need to load a new map onto the device. Luckily, Garmin has developed an easy process for loading maps on the GPS devices, and the entire process takes place right on the Internet.

Instructions

1. Go to the "nuvi 205" product page on the Garmin website.

2. Click "Compatible Maps." Then, select "View additional maps for this product" under the "Buy Additional Maps" heading.

3. Select the "Download" option for "City Navigator North America NT -- Canada Only."

4. Click "Download" and then "Add to Cart." Click "Checkout" and pay for the map purchase.

5. Plug your Garmin nuvi 205 into your computer. This is done using the USB cable that cames with the Garmin nuvi. Once plugged in, the Canadian map will be loaded onto your Garmin device.
