How to Turn on Hyperlinks in Outlook 2007


Microsoft Outlook 2007 is an industry standard e-mail management program. Users of Outlook can send, receive and manage e-mails as well as manage contacts, setup appointments and task reminders. Outlook also prevents spam through a built-in filtering feature. Some malicious e-mails may contain phishing hyperlinks that are meant to steal user's information. By default, Outlook disables hyperlinks that appear to be phishing. Turn off the disable links in phishing messages to turn on hyperlinks in Outlook 2007.

  • Launch Outlook. Click "Start" from the lower-left of the desktop. Click "All Programs" and then click "Microsoft Outlook 2007."

  • Click "Tools" from the top menu and then click "Options." The Options window launches.

  • Click the "Preferences" tab from the Options window.

  • Click "Junk E-mail" under E-mail.

  • Uncheck the box next to "Disable links and other functionality in phishing messages."

  • Click "OK" to save the changes and close out of the Options window.

Tips & Warnings

  • Disabling the phishing filter may allow phishing links to be sent. Do not click on any links that appear to be suspicious are from an unknown sender.
