How to Add an Image Caption in Dreamweaver

Save

Adobe Dreamweaver is a website creation tool that enables you to insert HTML for building your pages. An image caption is a title that is associated with -- and located beneath -- the image. You want this caption to remain beneath the image regardless of the text flow or possible page breaks. Use the DIV code to achieve this.

  • Open your HTML document using Dreamweaver.

  • Choose "View" from the top menu, then "Code" to display the code view, if necessary. Locate the image coding and include it within open and end DIV tags as follows:

    <div>

    &lt;img src="mypic.gif"  />

    </div>

  • Insert the caption within this div and inside its own div as in the following example.

    <div>

    &lt;img src="mypic.gif"  />

    <div>My Pic Caption</div>

    </div>

    The DIVs cause the grouping to stay together.
