How to Log Into Facebook Using Your Email & Password

Facebook has more than 500 million members at time of publication, and your friends, co-workers and neighbors are likely among them. In fact, the average Facebook user has 131 friends. To maintain users' privacy and to keep just anyone from being able to update your profile or add new friends to your account, you must have a valid username and password to access your Facebook account. Sometimes, just reading an article or viewing a fan page requires you to log in.

Instructions

1. Visit the Facebook homepage at facebook.com.

2. Type the email address associated with your Facebook account in the "Email" box in the top-right corner.

3. Type your Facebook password in the "Password" box.

4. Click "Login." You are now signed into Facebook.

Tips & Warnings

• If you forget your password, click "Forgot your password?" on the Facebook homepage, beneath the "Password" entry box. Facebook can send password reset instructions to the email address associated with your Facebook account.
