Stuffed peppers are an Italian dish made with hollowed out bell peppers that are stuffed with seasoning and usually meat. Stuffed peppers are topped with tomato sauce and grated Parmesan cheese. The proper way of eating stuffed peppers is a matter of personal preference that depends on whether you want to taste all flavors in each bite, or if you rather eat the stuffing and then the pepper.
Things You'll Need
- Spoon or ladle
Remove the stuffing from the hot pepper and place it on the side of your plate with your dinner fork, and cut the pepper in pieces with your steak knife. Another option is to cut the stuffed pepper in half lengthwise by placing your dinner fork in the stuffing to hold the pepper in place while cutting with a knife.
Portion the stuffing on each half of the pepper with your dinner fork. Cut the halves into smaller 1/4-inch pieces.
Pour excess tomato sauce onto each piece of pepper and stuffing with a teaspoon or sauce ladle. With a fork, poke into each piece and eat the stuffed pepper.
