Web designers can import JPEGs directly through Dreamweaver's Insert Image function.

Adobe Dreamweaver is a very useful program for designing and developing a Web page without any previous experience with markup language. Beyond its "what you see is what you get" web design interface, which allow you to see what your page will look like at the same time as you are developing it, its file management system is also user-friendly. Dreamweaver automatically manages the dependent files of your site, such as images, including importing those files from third-party sources and automatically copying them to your publishing directory in the process.

Instructions

    • 1

Copy the complete address of the JPEG you wish to import from your browser. In most browsers, the address can be found by right-clicking on the picture and selecting "View Image Info" or "Properties."

    • 2

Open the Web page to which you wish to import the JPEG in Dreamweaver and position the cursor where you wish to place the picture.

    • 3

Click "Insert" and then "Image" in the top navigational bar.

    • 4

Paste the URL in the "Filename" field of the pop-up window that appears and click "OK." Dreamweaver prompts you to copy the JPEG to your local publishing directory. Click "Yes" to do so. Dreamweaver imports the JPEG directly to your document and supplies it with a local file path. It also copies the JPEG to the root directory of your site in Dreamweaver, making it easy to publish the page and the imported JPEG at the same time.
