How to Compare Deals on Mobile Phones

Save

Every cell phone providers runs deals to draw in new customers. These deals include a variety of features such as the newest phones, unlimited plans and short or extended contracts. Before signing a cell phone contract (that most likely costs a fee to break), it's important to shop around to find the best plan that fits your needs. You can often find deals online that you cannot find in the stores.

  • Compare the amount of minutes offered with each plan and when night time minutes go into effect. Inquire if mobile to mobile is free and if it includes all mobile phone lines or just those with the same provider. Also compare the data plans. Depending on the style of phone you go with, you may want a plan that offers unlimited data because your bill will be large if you have to pay for data. Consider how many texts and media messages are offered each month as well.

  • Compare the phones offered with the contract. When you sign a contract you often find the best deals on phones. Some cell phone providers will offer free phones with an instant or mail in rebate. Shop around to see who not only has the best contract options, but also the best phone to fit your needs. Not every cell phone provider offers the best selections of phone, especially the newest models with the latest technologies.

  • Compare coverage offered from the cell phone provider. Not all providers offer nationwide coverage and may have high dropped-call rates. Read reviews or ask people you know who have the service to see what problems they have with coverage. This is important if you travel a lot or plan to use on a mobile phone in your home instead of a land line.

  • Compare how many lines you are allowed with the cell phone contract. If you need a family plan make sure you can add on enough lines for your family or business needs. Also examine how long the contract is as well as how long you have to wait for an upgrade of your phone.
