Upwork is an online website where people go to find or offer freelance work in any field. You use your username as identification; the more jobs you post and bid for, the more people in the Upwork community see your username and become familiar with you. Because of this, Upwork policy does not allow you to change your username yourself; you must email Upwork or file a help ticket requesting to have your username changed.
Log in to your Upwork account and visit the Customer Support page to file an online help ticket. On the ticket you must provide your name and your request for help.
Email Upwork to request to have your username changed. Provide your name, username and your contact information.
Include the username you want to change your account to in your help desk ticket or email. Include several other acceptable usernames in case your first choice is not available. List your new username choices in order of preference. Upwork will correspond with you to let you know whether your username has been changed, and if so, what it was changed to.
