How to Adjust a Movado Watch

Established in 1881, Movado is a premier Swiss watch company famous for quality, attractive and modern timepieces. The high-end firm makes a broad range of men's and women's watches from materials including 18K gold, carbon fiber, rubber and titanium. Adjusting a Movado watch is a simple process, though the exact actions required vary slightly between the two-hand quartz and automatic models, and the three-hand/date models.

Adjusting a Movado Two-hand Watch

Pull the small crown away from the case.

Rotate the crown clockwise or counterclockwise until the correct time is displayed.

Push the crown back into the watch case as the time adjustment process is now complete.

Adjusting a Movado Three-hand Watch

Set the date by pulling the crown slightly away from the watch case until it locks into the first adjustment position.

Rotate the crown clockwise until the correct date is displayed and push the crown back into the watch case.

Set the time by pulling the crown further away from the watch case to the second adjustment position.

Turn the crown either clockwise or counterclockwise until the current time is shown and push the crown back into the watch case.

Tips & Warnings

  • Movado two-hand watches not worn for more than 40 hours may stop and need winding manually. Turn the crown clockwise -- without pulling it away from the watch case -- for about 20 complete revolutions.
  • Owners of Movado three-hand watches with a screw-down crown must unlock the crown before setting the time or date. Turn the crown counterclockwise six times, adjust the watch, then lock the crown by rotating it clockwise several times.
