How to Sync My Google Contacts with My Phone

Google's free email application, Gmail, includes a contact organizing feature that allows you to save contact information and access it from any Internet-connected device. If you have a smartphone that has data access you can sync your contacts between the phone and Google Contacts so that the contacts you have in your pocket are the same ones you're using when you send email through Gmail. Blackberry phones have an application that can be downloaded to sync with Google. Windows Phones and iPhones can sync to a Google server with the built-in software. Android phones automatically sync with Google Contacts.

  • Open the Web browser on your BlackBerry device. Browse to and download the Google Sync application. Wait for the download to complete and install on your phone.

  • Open Google Sync from the home screen. Enter your Google Account user name and password.

  • Choose the information that you want to sync between Google and your Blackberry. Overwriting means that the information in one of the locations will be deleted in favor of the other. For example, if Google overwrites your BlackBerry, the contacts on your phone will be deleted and the Google contacts will replace them.
