How to Reset a HP C4385 Printer

When you encounter a problem with the operation of your HP Photosmart C4385 All In One, you may use a power reset as a last resort to correct the situation. A power reset will restore factory settings on the printer, meaning any personalized settings you set on the printer will be erased. Reserve power resets for when the printer reads an error, such as a paper jam or cartridge error, and you have verified that the printer is running smoothly, yet the error message continues to appear.

  • Press the "Power" button on the C4385's control panel to turn the printer on. Wait for the printer's display panel to read "Ready" before proceeding.

  • Pull the power cord out of the connection in the back of the printer. Unplug the other end of the power cord from the electrical outlet and wait 30 seconds.

  • Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet first, then insert the other end of the cord into the connection in the back of the printer. Press the "Power" button on the control panel if the printer does not turn on automatically.
