How to Change the Order of Your YouTube Playlist

How to Change the Order of Your YouTube Playlist thumbnail
You can rearrange the order of videos in your YouTube playlist.

When you watch videos on YouTube, you may find that some are so useful or entertaining that you know you'll want to watch them again in the future, so you save them to your playlist. You might also save a number of videos in your playlist that you don't immediately have time to watch. You can easily change the order of the videos in your YouTube playlist, perhaps from chronological order to the ones you are most interested in watching first.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your YouTube account at youtube.com. Click on the pull-down menu at the top of the page, and then click "My Videos."

    • 2

Click on a playlist. You will see a list of all the videos that you have saved to the list. Each video has a box with a number next to it, with "1" at the top of the list.

    • 3

Click in a box and type a new number to change its position. For example, you might move a video of a kid petting a kitten from position "7" to position "4." When you click in the numbered box, a window will appear with a "Move" button.

    • 4

Click the "Move" button. The video will move to the new location in your list.

    • 5

Click the "Sort By" pull-down menu and then click an option such as "Newest" or "Oldest" to automatically sort the videos in your YouTube playlist.
