Connect your Mac to your Insignia TV to watch digital videos on a bigger screen. Or you can use the TV as an external monitor for daily use. The external video port on your Mac allows for additional displays through an S-video or VGA connection. While the port is native to Mac devices, you will need to purchase an additional display adapter for the connection to be made.
Things You'll Need
- VGA cable
- Mac VGA Display Adapter
Locate the external video port on your Mac. For Mac laptops, the port is usually found on the left side of the device, and has a small picture of the monitor next to it. For desktops, the port is located on the back input panel of the tower.
Insert the display adapter into the external video port. Attach one side of the VGA cable to the port on the adapter.
Attach the other side of the VGA cable to the "PC" port on the back panel of the Insignia TV.
Turn on the TV and press the "Input" button on the remote until the "PC" is displayed on the screen. The picture from the Mac will appear once the "PC" input is selected.
