How to Move Text to the Bottom of the Page in Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word may not be set up as a desktop publishing program, but that doesn't mean users don't have a couple of ways to ensure their documents are to their specifications. Word actually provides two ways to work with text -- the simple way of typing directly on the page when it opens and the text box tool that allows text to be turned, flipped, moved and colored. Though each process involves text, moving that text around on the page takes a slightly different path in Word.

Text Box

  • Open Microsoft Word.

  • Scroll to the page with the text box to move to the bottom of the page.

  • Click once on the text box to highlight it.

  • Press and hold down the left mouse button. Drag the text box with the cursor towards the bottom of the page, keeping an eye on the page break space so the text box does not overlap or go off the page.
