How to Find the Center in Word 2007

Finding the center of a page is simplified with two useful features included in Microsoft Word 2007. The center justification feature allows you to find the horizontal center of a blank page, or center any selected text. The lesser-known vertical centering feature allows you to find the vertical center of the page. If text has already been entered, choosing this option centers all text vertically on the page.

  • Open a blank page in Microsoft Office 2007.

  • Click the "Home" tab.

  • Click the "center justification" button from the Paragraph group. This button appears as five centered, horizontal lines. Alternatively, hold the "Ctrl" key and press "E." This locates the horizontal center of the page.

  • Click the "Page Layout" tab.

  • Click the bottom, right arrow on the "Page Setup" group.

  • Click the "Layout" tab in the "Page Setup" window.

  • Click the drop-down menu next to "Vertical alignment," and select "Center."

  • Click "OK" to find the vertical center of the page. Any text you enter will now center both horizontally and vertically.
