How to Erase a Phone Message When Leaving One
Anyone can make a mistake when leaving an important voicemail message. Either you have an irresistible urge to sneeze or cough, the dog starts barking, or one of the kids starts making noises--leaving you to wonder if you sounded professional enough. With some voicemail systems, erase the message you left and start over.

Listen to the entire message that plays before you leave the message. Some automated greetings tell you if there is a menu you can access.

Try pressing the "#" or "1" key after you leave the message. If you pressed the right key, the voicemail system takes you into a menu.

Listen to the menu options, and select the option to erase and rerecord the message.
