How to Resize Pictures in Picasa 3
Picasa 3 is an image management program from Google. It indexes the images on your hard drive and organizes them for viewing, editing and synchronizing with other services. At first glance, Picasa 3 does not seem to have an option for resizing pictures. The resize feature is hidden inside the exporting feature. It can resize one picture at a time or in batches. When resizing in batches, all of the pictures are rendered to the same size.

Launch Picasa.

Click the picture you want to resize. To select multiple pictures to change to the same size, hold down "Ctrl" and click the pictures one at a time. The pictures appear in the Photo Tray in the lower, left-hand corner of Picasa 3.

Click the "Export" icon in the tool tray at the bottom of Picasa 3. A pop-up dialogue appears.

Click "Resize to" and type the number of pixels to which you want to resize your pictures. Alternately, click and hold the adjacent slider and drag it left or right to select a preset pixel count from 320 to 1600. Pixel counts represent the longer edge of your resized pictures.

Click the "Browse" button in the upper, right-hand corner of the pop-up dialogue to select the folder to which you want to save the resized pictures.

Type a new folder name in the box labeled "Name of exported folder."

Click "Export." Picasa will copy the original pictures, resize the copies, save the copies to the folder you selected and leave the originals unchanged.
