How to Block Zwinky.Com

Zwinky.com generates adware/spyware and can be avoided by blocking the website using Internet options.

Zwinky.com is a website where children and teenagers can take part in a digital world and live vicariously through characters they've created. If you are a parent of a registered user of zwinky.com, or if you are a user yourself, you will notice that the website generates an awful lot of pop-up ads and harmful adware/spyware. This is not only an incredible nuisance but can cause harm to your computer or expose your child to unwanted web sites. To remedy this situation, you will need to block the site all together. This will only take a few moments of your time and will ensure the safety of your child and your computer as well.

Instructions

1. Open your web browser, whether it be Internet Explorer or Firefox.

2. Click on "Tools" in the toolbar menu at the top of the screen in Firefox and select "Add-ons" from the drop-down menu. If you are on Internet Explorer, click "Tools" in the toolbar and selected "Internet Options" from the drop-down menu.

3. Select the "Browse All Add-ons" link in the upper-right of the add-on window in Firefox. If you are on I.E., select the "Privacy" tab at the top of the Internet Options window.

4. Search for "Blocksite" in the upper right-hand-side of the add-ons page in Firefox. If you are on I.E., click "Sites" in the bottom-left of a section titled "Settings" in the Internet Options window.

5. Download the add-on by clicking "Continue to Download" and then clicking "Add to Firefox" on the subsequent page. If you are on I.E., type in the URL of the website you are trying to block into the text box labeled "Address of Website" and click "Block" to complete the blocking process.

6. Restart your Firefox to finalize the installation of the add-on by clicking "Restart Firefox" in the upper-right of the add-ons window.

7. Locate the add-ons window that will have reopened after restart and click on the add-on from the list. Select "Preferences".

8. Click "Add" from the list of buttons in the right-hand column of the BlockSite preferences.

9. Type http://www.zwinky.com in the pop-up window and click "OK".

10. Click "OK" in the BlockSite preferences window to finalize the blocking of Zwinky.com
