How to Remove SQL Server Management Studio

Use the SQL Server Management Studio to configure and manage all components of the SQL server. SQL servers have different components for databases, reporting and software applications. The Server Management Studio incorporates all the tools like "Query Analyzer," "Enterprise Manager" and "Analysis Manager" that manage the different components of an SQL Server. To uninstall the Management Studio, it needs to be set as an unavailable feature for the SQL Server. This can be done in the "Add-Remove Programs" panel.

  • Click "Start" and "Run."

  • Type "appwiz.cpl" without the quotation marks and press "Enter" to open the "Add-Remove Programs" panel.

  • Click "Microsoft SQL Server 2005" under the current list of installed programs then click "Change-Remove."

  • Select "Workstation components" on the "Component Selection" page and then click "Next" twice.

  • Click "Change Installed Components" on the "Change or Remove Instance" page.

  • Expand "Client Components."

  • Click "Management Tools" and click "Entire Feature will be Unavailable."

  • Click "Next" and click "Install" to make the Management Studio tools unavailable.
