How to Burn a DVD Using Nero Startsmart thumbnail
A DVD holds either 4.7GB or 8.5GB of data, depending on the type.

Nero Startsmart primarily functions as a launcher for other applications in the Nero multimedia software suite, including Nero Vision, Nero Burning and Nero MediaHub. Startsmart also rips audio CDs, convert the ripped files to MP3s, run performance and analysis tests on your burner and accesses the Nero manual and tutorials. You also use Startsmart on its own to quickly burn a data DVD.

Instructions

    • 1

Double-click the Nero Startsmart desktop icon to launch the program. Click "Data Burning."

    • 2

Click "Add." Navigate to the first file you want to burn to the DVD. Select it and click "Add." Repeat the process for any other files you want Startsmart to burn to the DVD.

    • 3

Select your DVD burner from the "Destination drive" drop-down menu. Type a name for the DVD into the "My Disc" text field.

    • 4

Click "Burn." Insert a blank DVD into the burner and click "Load." Click "OK" when the burning process completes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Monitor the capacity bar at the bottom of the window to ensure that you're not exceeding the DVD's capacity.
