Rayon and polyester clothing are a confusing blend, in terms of care. Rayon is a more delicate fabric that is prone to shrinkage. Polyester is a tougher fabric, able to withstand hotter temperatures. So when it comes to washing a blended fabric, the confusion is over how to treat it so it looks clean and wrinkle-free. Garment care experts recommend looking to the tag first for direction, but to stay on the safe side by washing the garment based on the most delicate material's needs.

Step 3

Place your rayon polyester blend clothing in the washer.

Step 4

Press the "Start" button to run the cycle.

Step 5

Remove the clothing from the washer after the cycle finishes.

Step 6

Place the garments on individual hangers to hang dry. Or place outside on a clothesline to dry.

Tip

Heat will shrink rayon, but you can throw the garment into a dryer for a few minutes to tumble dry on cool.

Instead of washing in a machine, you can dry clean or hand wash the garments.

When hang drying, absorb excess water by rolling the garment in a towel first.
