How to Make Arms Not Look Flabby

Flabby arms can impact your self-esteem. You may have resorted to only wearing long-sleeved tops, or maybe you've decided to hold your arms tightly next to your body at all times so nobody notices them. Instead of resorting to these measures, there are other things you can do to camouflage and eventually get rid of flabby arms. Making Arms Look Less Flabby Through Exercise and Diet.

Create an exercise routine that contains three to five days of cardiovascular exercise and two to three days of full-body, strength training. Combining cardiovascular and strength training helps you lose body fat. Reducing fat from just your arms is not possible. You have to take on your entire body to lose fat all over.

Perform exercises such as bench dips. Include upper arm exercises in your strength training workout to help tone the muscles underneath your arm fat. Upon reduction of arm fat, your shapely muscles emerge. For bench dips, sit on the floor with your back toward a parallel bench or step. Stretch your legs out in front of you with your feet flexed. Place your palms on the bench behind you. Push yourself up and straighten your arms to raise your hips off the floor. Bend your elbows to lower yourself back down and push yourself back up before touching the floor.

Perform triceps extensions. Sit on a bench and bend forward at your waist. Hold a dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing your body. Raise your upper arms behind you so they are parallel to the floor and at a 90-degree angle with the lower arms. Extend your arms behind you while holding the weights. Bring the weights back to their starting position.

Watch what you eat. If you eat fatty, processed, sugar-laden foods, you sabotage your exercise routine and will never get the desired results. Read food labels and opt for low-fat or non-fat dairy, lean cuts of meat and whole grains. Avoid saturated fats because they raise your cholesterol. Choose unsaturated fats such as olive oil instead. Fill up on fresh fruits and vegetables.

The tops reduce the appearance of arm flab and make your arms look slimmer. They come in elbow, three-quarters and long-sleeved varieties and are available in various colors.

Wear clothes that draw attention to another part of your body to enhance your appearance. Wear a scarf or jewelry to draw attention to your face or wear V-neck tops or tops with vertical lines to proportion and lengthen your entire upper body. Avoid square and round-neck tops and tops with puffy sleeves because these all make you appear top-heavy. Choose a sleeve length that ends either above or below the biceps.
