It doesn't take a math whiz to figure out the square feet of an object or a space. A few simple measurements and one calculation is all it takes to convert a foot into a square foot. Whether you need the square footage of a room you are wanting to remodel or for an outdoor area you are planning a garden for, it is ideal to have a quick conversion tool handy for calculations.
Things You'll Need
- Measuring tape
Use a measuring tape to determine the length of the object or space you want to convert. Write this measurement down.
Use that same measuring tape to measure the width of the object or space as well. Write this measurement down too.
Multiply the length measurement by the width measurement to get your square foot measurement. For example, if your space was 3 feet by 3 feet, the square footage would equal 9.
