A photo identification card is the size of a credit card, which makes it difficult to read the details after copying or faxing, due to the low-resolution imaging. You can enlarge your photo ID before faxing to ensure the information is clear and legible. Although fax machines don't normally offer the option to enlarge an image, if you copy your photo ID before you fax it, you can send a larger and clearer image.
Things You'll Need
- Copy machine
- Photo ID
Locate a copier to make a copy of the photo ID. Put the photo ID face down on the glass of the photocopier and close the top cover.
Press the "Enlarge" or "Resize" button on the copier and choose the option to make the image larger than 100 percent. The higher the percentage you choose, the larger the copy of the image will become. Selecting 200 percent will double the image, 300 percent will triple the image, and so on.
Press "Copy" or "Start" to make the copy. Check the image to verify the size and for clarity. If the image is not legible, adjust the size and copy the image again.
Take the selected image of the photo ID from the photocopier and go to the fax machine.
Locate the number of the recipient wanting to receive the fax. Place the copy of the photo ID face down on the document feeder of the fax machine.
Dial the recipient's fax number and press "Send." The fax machine will transmit the enlarged copy of your photo ID to the designated recipient.
