How to Boost Up Your FPS in COD 2


Call of Duty 2 is a first-person shooter set during World War II. The term FPS stands for Frames Per Second. FPS is important in COD 2 because it determines how often your screen refreshes. The faster your screen refreshes, the more you will see enemy models move in real time. Seeing enemy models in real time is crucial to perfecting your aim. You can increase your FPS while playing COD 2 by entering several commands into your configuration. The "~" key opens a direct console which allows you to make manual changes to your config. Turning off superfluous graphical options will increase your FPS.

  • Open Call of Duty 2 and press the "`" key. The "~" opens the developers console which will allow you to make changes to your graphical settings.

  • Type "set r_glow 0" then press "enter." This removes glow effects from models and projectiles.

  • Type "seta cg_blood 0" then press "Enter" to remove the blood splashing effect.

  • Type "seta r_drawdecals 0" to remove custom player decals.

  • Enter "seta cg_brass 0 into the developers console to remove bullet casings.
