How to Add Toolbars

Save

Toolbars are found in Web browsers, software programs and websites. Toolbars contain links, options and menus all displayed conveniently for the ease of the user. For example, the address box in your browser that contains a website's URL is a kind of toolbar which can be added or removed. You can either add a toolbar by downloading an add-on for your Web browser or you can add a customized one of your own.

Add-on Toolbars

  • Search the Internet for the Web toolbar you wish to install.

  • Click on install and download the add-on. It should now automatically install. When it has finished installing, you will be asked to restart your browser.

  • Open your Web browser to see your new toolbar near the top menu. If not, select "View" then scroll down to "Toolbars" and select it from the list.

Customized Toolbar

  • Open your Web browser.

  • Select "View" from the top menu. Scroll down to "Toolbars" and select "Customize."

  • Choose "Add New Toolbar." Name the toolbar and you will see it appear at the top of your Web browser. Drag-and-drop the icons you wish to put into your toolbar. Press "Done" when you are finished.
