How to Calculate Page Views on Alexa

Alexa rankings offer an important website traffic metric. If you own a website, Alexa can be a useful tool for setting goals and monitoring Web traffic. Additionally, you can use Alexa to observe Web traffic for other websites, such as those run by a competitor. You can use Alexa to receive information on daily, monthly and three-month average traffic.

  • Navigate to Alexa's homepage (see Resources).

  • Enter a website URL into the search box. Click "Search."

  • Click "Get Details." Here, you can see page-view details. Click "Page Views/User." This will allow you to see the average amount of page views a user performs on that site each day.

  • Click "Page Views." This displays a vital Alexa statistic involving Web traffic. The percentage displayed represents the percentage of people that visit the particular website out of the total sum of Internet traffic. For example, a website may possess 1 percent of all Internet traffic page views in the world for a period of one day.
