How to Edit a Picture in a MP3 File

An MP3 file is a digital audio file that uses compression to make the file size much smaller than it would be in its original analog form. Some MP3 files contain embedded pictures for album art. In Windows, you can edit this album art and change it to something else if you want.

  • Click "Start," and select "Computer."

  • Navigate to the folder on your disk drive that contains your MP3 file.

  • Right-click the MP3 file, hover over "Open With" and choose "Windows Media Player."

  • Open another instance of "Computer," and browse to the folder containing the image you want to use for album art. Right-click the image, and select "Copy."

  • Switch back to Windows Media Player. Right-click the album art for the song you opened, and select "Paste Album Art." The album art picture will now be updated for the MP3 you chose.
