How to Use the Pantech Impact T9
T9, also known as predictive text, helps users to SMS text messages faster on nine-key phone pads. Instead of painstakingly pecking out your words with 26 letters jammed into nine keys, T9 attempts to predict your words while you're spelling them out. When T9 finds the right word, you can select it and move on to spelling the next word. While your Pantech Impact features a full QWERTY keypad, you may find the phone's T9 features to be the more agile option.

Press the left "-" button on your Impact to launch the phone's menu options. Press and hold the "Hold" button, located on the right side of the phone, to activate the phone's external keypad.

Highlight the "Settings" option from the menu by using the left "-" to select the option.

Select the "Phone" option from the "Settings" menu, and then select the "Language" option from the "Phone" menu. Select the "Predictive" option inside of the "Language" menu.

Press your Impact's "End" button to return to the phone's home screen. Press the left "-" to access the phone's menu. Select the "Messaging" option in the menu. Select the "Create Message" option inside of the "Messaging" menu.

Key in the beginning of a word into the message template -- the T9 words appear below your incomplete word. Press your phone's down arrow to highlight one of the T9 words. Press the left soft key to select the highlighted word and replace your incomplete word.
