How to Insert One PowerPoint Presentation Into Another

Microsoft PowerPoint has no import feature, but that doesn't mean you can't insert one presentation into another. You can insert a previous smaller presentation to illustrate a section of another slideshow, or combine multiple slideshows into one master file. Whatever your reason, copying slides across PowerPoint files involves just a few steps.

  • Open Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Click the "Office" button in the top right corner.

  • Click "Open."

  • Double-click on the PowerPoint presentation you want to insert into a second presentation to open it.

  • Click on one of the thumbnail slides in the sidebar on the left.

  • Press "Ctrl" and "A" simultaneously to select all the slides.

  • Press "Ctrl" and "C" to copy these slides to the clipboard.

  • Click the "Office" button again.

  • Click "Open" to open the presentation you want to insert the slides into, or click "New" to create a new presentation.

  • Click on the slide thumbnail in the left sidebar that you want to appear immediately before the inserted presentation.

  • Press "Ctrl" and "V" to paste the first presentation's slides into the second presentation.
