How to Remove a Video Download Toolbar

Save

Your Internet browser is capable of adding functionality via small programs, which add features and interface options via a new toolbar. These bars are sometimes added automatically when you install free software or visit a new website. If you want your Internet browser to run faster or just have a less cluttered appearance, you can manually disable or remove toolbars, including ones from online video services. The three most popular browsers, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome, use similar removal processes.

Internet Explorer

  • Click the "Internet Explorer" icon on your computer's desktop or toolbar. Wait for the program to launch and load your homepage.

  • Right-click an empty area of the toolbar, such as just below the address bar. Click on the check mark next to the name of the toolbar you want to remove.

  • Uncheck all the related add-ons, then click "Disable." Check your Internet Explorer add-on area to make sure the toolbar has disappeared.

Firefox

  • Click the "Firefox" icon on your computer's desktop or toolbar. Wait for the program to launch and load your homepage.

  • Right-click an empty area of the navigation bar, such as next to the "Stop" button. Click on the check mark next to the name of the toolbar you want to remove.

  • Press "Alt" to make the menu bar appear, click "Tools" and then "Add-ons." Click the entry for the toolbar you want to remove, and then click the "Remove" button within the entry.

  • Click the blue text labeled "Restart Now." Wait for Firefox to shut down and start again.

Chrome

  • Click the "Chrome" icon on your computer's desktop or toolbar. Wait for the program to launch and load your homepage.

  • Right-click on the logo of the toolbar you want to remove. Click "Manage Extensions."

  • Find the entry for the toolbar you want to remove. Click the link labeled "Uninstall," then click "Uninstall" again. The toolbar is now removed.
